Setting up my Arlo Pro 3 system. Question, for outside installs does anyone plan for camera theft? Im mounting one that will be unreachable without a ladder but I have 1 thats about 7. 5" high. Anyone use the mounts with a housing and short chain. ?

If someone wants to take it, they’ll take it anyway. Hopefully the spotlight and blatant fact even they they take it, they will be right up close to the camera recording is enough of a deterrent

@sciomancy thays what Im thinking. The chain type mounts would just be a deterrent and nothing is theft proof

Half my cameras are about face height. Some overt some more covert. Haven't had any stolen in 5 years though I've seen a few on the forum that have had them stolen. I think Arlo replace them if within a certain time?

What sold me on Arlo is that even if someone steals a camera, it’s caught on video and blatant evidence of theft.

@areola is that only for subscription user?

@bionics2061 It is now that I got the Pro 3 but worth it for $10 per month. I pay double that for alarm monitoring.

Ive set plenty of them up and although the first thing we think about is someone stealing them or even sabotaging them, I haven't an issue with that yet. I think people tend to see them and that deters them from the get go. If they want too, they can get them if they wanted too. If you want the ones with the chain, I suggest go for it

I have one outside that I don’t feel is really hidden. I’ve had no problems with it and delivery services never even seem to notice it. I have a coworker that was having trouble with stealing cars by juveniles. They installed cameras (after 2 cars were stolen and retrieved) and the next night they came she has them on camera recognizing the camera and leaving.
