I'm just putting this out there in case anyone can relate: I just balanced my checking in three transactions and 2 minutes. This is huge because I have THREE FREAKING PAGES of transactions to track for February checking. Friends, I need to GET A GRIP on swiping that card and funding my envelopes later. I am a MESS. This was my first month. I'm terrified to try to close out the month because I'm sure I won't balance at all due to all the random transactions from different places. I think I learned that my grocery envelope needs to be bigger as well as my junk envelope. and maybe a miscellaneous category? I have faith this will work but oof. Starting out is rough.

Be patient with yourself! It is a learning Curve. You have to give yourself a few months to look at your transactions to see what you spend, where you can cut back, and what your weak areas are. Keep trying and don’t beat yourself up. You are trying and that is a major step. I was the same at the beginning, major thing that helped me is leaving my cards at home so I couldn’t use them. Tough live for myself.

Thank you for that. Can you answer this for me- I spent money from my checking on groceries even though there's a grocery envelope. Do I move any of that to "actual" for my paycheck bill tracker? Or just put it on the "where did my money go" sheet. I can't really find that answer.

You got this, Kim! It’s trial & error! You see your weaknesses so try to work off of what you know now & do better! You’ll improve!
