Since January I have paid off the majority of my credit card debt with only 2 cards remaining. When I closed one if the store cards, it dropped my credit score a few points, nbd since it was expected. Well, this morning my score has dropped nearly 50 points and I don't understand why. I was waiting to close one of my cards that has an annual fee but I feel like now it really doesn't matter. What would you do? Close annual fee card and use other LOC for gas and small purchases to maintain payment history to build score back up or just sit it out and let the score increase on it's own over time since I'm not using the credit cards anyways?
