Hi TBM Family!  I am a college student and figured I would start tracking my spending and start saving for the future.Hi TBM Family! I am a college student and figured I would start tracking my spending and start saving for the future. I’m a full time college student taking 18 hours and I’m working a part time job. I usually only spend $40 at the grocery store every week but only end up eating broccoli and bell pepper for dinner. I wanted to get yalls opinions on Hello Fresh? Or any of the weekly meal prep/plan companies? Is it worth it? Any advice would be sooo beneficial!

I did hello fresh for a few weeks. I didn’t care for it much. And was kinda pricey for us. Now I just meal plan ahead and shop for what I need.

@carrico we did the trail it was a while back so I’m honestly not sure exactly how much we paid. I wanna say it was $60 a week and it came with 3 or 4meals. Sorry it’s been so long I can’t exactly remember

Hello fresh was not for me. The price was reasonable, the meals were pretty well balanced and the recipes were easy to follow but the food didn’t last too long. I felt like I HAD to be home to cook dinner in order not to waste the food. I ended up throwing a lot out. The convenience of it is not grocery shopping but you still have to cook and prep a little.

I have used it off and on for a few years, and we like it! The base plan for 3 meals per week for 2 people is $69, so that’s $23 a meal. But it’s about the convenience. You also have to watch because they offer “gourmet” and “gourmet plus” choices which are anywhere from $2. 99 to $7. 99 extra per serving. We don’t get it every week but we get it every now and then when I don’t feel like planning or don’t have time plan our meals. Just have to remember to skip the weeks you don’t want or need to get it.

Not sure if you used chegg for books this semester but they had a coupon code. I will try and look for mine to give you bc i wont use. Aside from that, ive tried and did not love it. I agree as mentioned, you can create your own meals for less. I would stick to staples. maybe meal prepping on sunday then thursday. now that im back in school i usually try and follow that plan of making my food sunday and eating leftovers through the week.
