Question

Best product to use to clean a washing machine? In the UK?  Was here when we moved into our rented house a year ago. It's old. Has hair and dirt in it. Have tried cleaning it but obv internally its going to be gross. I have already tried white vinegar multiple times.

Also pull the washing machine out and take off the drainage hose and clean that out. I could t believe how much dirt was in ours.

To be honest, another thing i would do is take the pipe from under the sink and wash that out. I had a second hand washing machine that i didnt realise was so dirty when i moved into my flat, and when i got my new one took the pipe out and it was filthy. Any more gunk and it wouldve leaked. Maybe get someone to help you though because its gross and gets messy x

@sural6386 in response to taking the jubilee clip off first, my washing machines outlet pipe wasnt long enough to pull out without the pipe being disconnected first but yours may be x

@smocking I take the drawer out then use a cotton bud to clean the little pipe. Not easy. I always put white vinegar in the fabric conditioner section on every wash. I never use conditioner on cotton bedding or towels, just vinegar. I also use washing soda in the soap dispenser for every wash (I put washing liquid directly in the drum).

I used soda crystals on a hot wash, gave the door and seals all a wipe then an empty hot wash to rinse it all

Bottle of white vinegar in the draw on hot wash empty machine. Then if u can get soda crystals from super Market put in draw with every wash u do

Astonish - mould & Mildred from Poundland - works great on the drawer and rubber. Use an old tooth brush to get into the nooks

Dr Beckmans service it. It brilliant and on offer for £1. 99 in morrisons and lidl at the moment. I clean mine regularly but when I used this I was mortified at the colour of the water

Dishwasher tablets will destroy the drum . please buy either dettol or Dr Beckmans washing machine service and cleaner to do the job! Clean the drawer, the door and the seals and leave the door open to air the machine out after every use.

Dettol washing machine cleaner with bicarbonate soda in the drum. It foams up really well getting into everywhere that needs to be cleaned. Make sure you put it on a high temperature wash
