My decking has been down for about 12 years, today I jet washed it and it's come up better than I expected. My question is do I oil it in a clear colour or stain it with an oak / pine colour ? I don't know what would be the better option.

I do believe an oil stain will last longer then a paint stain

Yeah deffo oil. Cuprinol Natural Oak I think its called is what we have recently done our deck in. Apply with a brush for better coverage and to make it go further as it's pricey .

Brilliant stuff. Not to expensive and a lovely colour.

This is the colour. The decking has been done a year and the log store about six months. One coat on tantalised timber.

Mine has been down for 20 years, definitely oil it. If you paint or stain it it will come off in patches when you next jet wash it, I made that mistake and spent hours sanding each piece.

This colour would look great! But it’s up to you.

Oil every time, screwfix does the cheapest decking oil, £30 a gallon. B&Q £52 a gallon
