I start with manual CPC. Once I get some conversations then I continue with a maximize conversion until I have enough conversions. Then I happily set target CPA/target ROAS.

So nobody actually has a constant flow of TOF users? Everyone jumps to conversions?

I agree with @

- I start with manual CPC. I just find that I have more control and can build more reliable momentum within a new campaign that way. Then once the momentum is there and more data is available for Google, I usually switch to maximize clicks or or maximize conversions.

Got the arguments and do it like that too, sometimes. Quite slow as a tactic, though.

Start with maximize clicks if on a fresh account, then adjust and optimize continually with manual CPC. No automation unless a lot of traffic (lots of data), but I work with lead generation for local businesses, so manual has the best ROAS.

Hi All I have set my campaigns up without a Google Ad conversion as I am using Tag Manager on the PPC landing pages and tracking the CTA button when it has been clicked by a user via the Ad.

Hello. I have set up Google Ads conversion tracking for a onepage Wordpress website, but the tracking records clicks on ALL buttons on that page - at least that is what I assume, as the conversion numbers are so high.
