I can see why the cookbook helps people who are not inclined to cooking their own food, but as someone who doesn’t follow many recipes and is pretty comfortable in the kitchen-I think the cookbook is a waste of money. It endorses a lot of the Walden farms products that I think are terrible tasting, ranch dressing and mayo shouldn’t taste like sugar. Additionally, I don’t think this way of cooking is practical or sustainable long term. Studies show that eating whole foods is better for you. Fake sugars still make you crave sugar. I would say it’s easier to be more successful keeping things simple. It’s easy to throw a bunch of veggies (asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower were my go to) and a piece of chicken/fish/pork in the oven for 20 minutes. A steam bag of veggies with my lunch packet were easy. You can change seasonings to keep things interesting. Also i could throw tater tots or something on the side for my BF and not worry about being too tempted, while he could still get what he wants. If I got really bored, and yes it does get boring, but it is far less stressful to worry about what you need to “meal prep” you could try a fun recipe with substitutions. Crock pot fajitas were one of my favorites. I would just eat from a bowl with lettuce and no tortilla. Also a pressure cooker and air fryer are a way better investment than the cookbook in my opinion. I personally don’t find fake tasting foods appetizing.
