Has anyone had any experience with the Stabilization Phase? Incorporating exercise? Do you/Can you continue to lose? I’m at a point in phase one where it’s taking me a month to lose 1-2 pounds and that’s just not cost efficient anymore.
Has anyone had any experience with the Stabilization Phase?

There's a FB IPA page of you want the link
by (950 points)
A stabilization page? I am about 2 weeks out, could you please send me the link?
by (2.1k points)
@pythagorean sure. Hold on
by (2.1k points)
The group lead is a wonderful coach. She answered any questions I've had and so nice
by (10.1k points)
@alienate9725 you should not support nor recommend ipa on this page. This is an IP support page.
by (2.1k points)
They follow the same program
by (3k points)
@alienate9725 no they don’t actually. IP products are far more superior and are made much differently. We are asking about stabilization on the true program not and alternative program.
by (9.1k points)
@@diplomatic223 How do you know? What’s the evidence for this claim beyond just that’s what they say? I’m REALLY curious about this.
by (3.7k points)
The IPA is Phase 1 Alternative and it COMPLETELY follows Phase 1 - just adds 3 food group choices for those that can’t (or shouldn’t) go into ketosis. ie: type 1 diabetics.

I have been walking A LOT recently. Especially the last 2 weeks. It has definitely moved my loss along. For example this last week I have lost 5. 2 pounds and weigh in isn't until tomorrow. I usually walk at work during part of my lunch and 10 minute break, and then after work for 30 to 45 minutes with the fam.  For reference my avg. weekly loss is usually between 1. 5 and 3. 5.
by (3k points)
I do walk. Your average week loss is more than my monthly losses. I just don’t think it’s really feasible for me anymore.
by (7k points)
@diplomatic223 oh ok.
by (4.6k points)
Not feasible? what does that mean? you're going to stop, then start gaining weight? in phase off phase, as for cost effectiveness, you have to start looking for real life replacements of product food and ones that are still protocol compliant. it seems that for many, the closer we get to goal weight, the harder it is to lose. it is what it is. just accept it. that doesnt mean giving up, it just means accept that it sometimes gets harder. the fact that you are losing is GREAT. focus on that. slower is better than not losing. slower is better than gaining.

I’m also losing very slowly . last 5-8 pounds are the hardest to lose .
by (3k points)
@vermination34 that where I am, and I just can’t really considering paying $500 a month for a few more months for 5 pounds.
by (4.6k points)
$500 a month ? I guess it is close to that . but I’m hanging in there for a bit longer. finally went into the 130’s yesterday!
by (3k points)
@vermination34 well I mean yeah it’s about $100 or so a week

I would say go IPA. You can still follow the diet but use store products. Your weight loss may be the same but cheaper costs
by (7.6k points)
@alienate9725 I would stay away from the ipa page as the admins are bullies and have nothing better to do with their day than to belittle someone for asking a question. If you look at the page they don’t nearly have as many post as they did a few years ago because these ladies don’t think it’s appropriate to ask a question that someone else had already asked
by (2.1k points)
@emersonemery I think a lot of these kinds of pages can be bullying. The one I've mentioned was when I did IPA 2 yrs ago to prepare for having a baby. I had a great experience with the coach and she had no problem answering my questions. This page and that page even share members. I've Been on IP pages with bullies. It just depends on the person
by (7.6k points)
@alienate9725 I agree with u . With The ipa page it comes down to the admins having to much control and not allowing members to even comment on posts.
by (2.1k points)
@emersonemery i haven't had that experience but it's something to watch out for any group

I’m aware of the alternatives. I tried that at one point and it doesn’t work nearly as well.
by (2.1k points)
@diplomatic223 that's what I was saying. It's not as much loss but it is cheaper
by (3k points)
@alienate9725 right. I’m already not losing though
by (2.1k points)
@diplomatic223 I'm sorry. What does your coach say?
by (10.1k points)
@diplomatic223 cheap isn’t always better!
by (3k points)
@alienate9725 she thinks changing it up may work but I’m so afraid of changing things and gaining. I know I can always go back to phase 1. I would love to speak with people that have done the new phase.
by (2.1k points)
@diplomatic223. I wish you the best results in whatever you need to do

@diplomatic223 what products, meat and veggies are you eating? Do you have any health issues that could be stalling you?

I appreciate the input but I was specifically asking if anyone knew anything about losing weight in stabilization. I’m going to look for a page for that.
by (10.1k points)
@diplomatic223 have you tried to do boot camp? One week strictly ip (5 packets a day) no restricted? Might he worth a try
by (3k points)
No. My coach as never suggested that
by (5k points)
@alcaeus10 I’m doing that right now. I’ve lost 116 and 7 to go!
by (10.1k points)
@diplomatic223 you could ask her. It is IP approved.

I think it’s worth considering that this is your body telling you you’ve hit your perfect goal weight. I think maybe switching to less restrictive phases and starting to work on fitness (especially weights! ) to tone and shape your body could be a good way forward. Whatever you do; I wish you the best of luck!
by (3k points)
@craggie thank you. My coach has mentioned this to me. She said whether is my ideal weight or not, it could be my body’s. I know exercising can still help me lose inches if not weight. It’s just hard and scary to make that call
by (6.5k points)
@diplomatic223 I totally get that. It’s a completely different mindset than we’re used to. If you had the dedication to find so much success so far on IP I’m sure you’ll do an equally great job with whatever comes next
by (9.1k points)
Keep in mind you will gain weight for a while when you start training before you see losses.

I’m on my 3rd week of stabilization
by (3k points)
@lamrert how are you doing? I’m so nervous
by (2.1k points)
@diplomatic223 fine I’ve maintained, I will admit to not eating the full amount of carbs a day but that’s just personal choice, I used to eat so many carbs and since cutting them out I really don’t crave them at all. I enjoy eating feta cheese, avocado, yogurt and fruit which is something I really missed. Portion control is the key I believe to staying successful.
by (3k points)
@lamrert that’s what my coach and I were talking about. Do I want pizza and French fries? Sure at some point but that’s not was I’m craving. I want fruit, nuts, cheese and a few starchy veggies like corn, peas and carrots. I feel like if that’s things I’m craving, I’ll be okay. I’m up to walking 3 miles a few times a week. She told me to go through the stabilization sheet and find the things I miss the most and we will start adding them back into my diet. We are big meat and veggie eaters so I really hope this is something I can continue well. And I have to understand that crap is going to happen and I’m probably going to get off track at some point. And that’s okay. Can always go back to phase 1 for a bit to back at it.
by (2.1k points)
@diplomatic223 absolutely, I had one mandarin yesterday and it didn’t sit well the acid gave me terrible heartburn and upset my stomach so they are off my list
by (3k points)
@lamrert thank you so much for this. It really helps to speak with someone going through it. I can’t find a group on fb. Do you know of one? Do you mind if I reach out to you going forward?
by (2.1k points)
@diplomatic223 anytime, I can’t find a group for stabilization either. It sure helps having others to ask who are going through the same stage

Hang in there. I have started the program 3 weeks already and loss 5. 2 lbs 2 weeks ago and last week only 1. 5 lbs. And can't seem to loose inches around waist-hip. I do take BCAA a bit everyday and do exercise. I was taking 64 oz of water as per the new program but was told to cut down as my water retention percentage is still high. Not sure what makes it high and barely use salt.
by (3k points)
@spelter5 I’m almost done. I’m to the point where I’m barely losing 1-2 a month.

I have lots of medical issues as a result I work my butt of and will either not loose or gain weight even. Then on the sixth week my body catches up to me and I’ll loose 12-20pounds. The point? You are allowing the scale to be your only say on your journey. What are your body measurements doing? Look at your food calories vs what you would need to eat to maintain your weight. It is impossible to be p1 compliant and not loose. Drink your water and carry on girl.
by (3k points)
@gravitative7 not true dear. I log everything and my coach reviews it. I wish my body would catch up and lose 12 pounds as I’ll be at my goal. I only have 5ish pounds to lose and losing 1 pound per month isn’t work $400-$500. Sorry.
by (9.2k points)
@diplomatic223 oh girl what about what you have already lost? If you choose to stop p1 could you please consider maintenance? I just want you to have the very best YOU
by (3k points)
@gravitative7 that’s exactly what my post is about. I specifically asked about Stabilization
by (9.2k points)
@diplomatic223 sorry if I have offended you.
by (3k points)
@gravitative7 you didn’t offend me. And I’m sorry if i came across rude. It’s just irritating on this page sometimes when you ask a specific question and people don’t really read what you are asking before answering. I understand people want to be helpful but telling me they this and try that doesn’t answer what I’m asking. I’m stating I’m almost to goal and asking about stabilization and people want to tell me to try the alternative plan or don’t give up because of all my hard work when none of that is the issue or what I’m asking about.
by (9.2k points)
@diplomatic223 we good. However, you are correct. I didn’t get you were only 5lb away from goal.

My coach actually said that this may not be exactly where I want to be but it may be where my body wants me to be. If it was just about money she would keep me going with hope of going forward. She obviously knows what she is talking about.

I had some luck the first time I did ideal protein but when I phased off my coach was not very direction oriented and once I started phase 2 (stabilization) I started to gain weight almost instantly. This time around I have not had as much luck losing weight as fast as I did before. I have started walking a lot and see a big difference in my numbers. I started March 5th and had a great first week and then didn’t really lose much for two weeks. I started to walk 3 miles and saw the scale slowly start moving. I have started walking more around 4-6 miles a day and the scale is moving much faster. I did try the reboot where a person eliminates protein with an extra packet for 2-3 days and they helped too to start things along

I did IP in 2012 and had great results with PH2. I still lost a couple of pounds. That phase was only 2 weeks. I liked Ph3 best and it's only a week or two. It's a little scary to have a huge 400 cal breakfast and carbs (bread) back in. I put on 2-3 pounds and stayed at that weight for many years. Ph4 was good but I prefer the structure of Ph3. Plus I like some of the IP snacks I started walking (2 miles per day - treadmill or in the local park on Ph3), and eventually built up to 5 miles every day. That allowed me to maintain my weight loss for years. Last year, I stopped walking daily and started eating junk and here I am again, 8 years later. But this time, I only had 20/25 pounds to lose
The Ideal Protein Protocol Group is where you can always find questions, answers, advice, reviews & recommendations from other community members about recipes, tips, and support for Phase 1 of the Ideal Protein Protocol.
