To be clear, the protocol in the us is 4-6 oz. If a coach is telling you to do more , she needs to have a medical reason

@zinovievsk when did that change.
by (210 points)
I'm off the diet a few years . But lost 64lbs on 8ozs pre cooked. I think 6 to 4 oz. A day is very low.

@zinovievsk thank you!

@tole21874 January at my clinic, coaches had to attend new training.
by (11.4k points)
@tole21874 you adjust, I was eating 8 daily for 4 months and I’m doing 5 now and I’ve noticed no difference in my hunger level and the weight is coming off.
by (210 points)
@victorie 5oz ? It's a great diet it works . Good luck to everyone on there journey.
by (11.4k points)
@tole21874 yes. If I do seafood I’ll do 6, but beef 5. I think the tough part will be in the next phase or whenever we add more protein?
by (210 points)
@victorie I know some people found it hard but you can do it. If I remember people used to have there protein through out the day having eggs at breakfast. But I'm off it 4 years now I just like to see everyones progress now. You can do it.

@tole21874 that’s what I’m thinking you get back to a normal way of eating without the packets. How are you maintaining?

@stork97 I am glad you are doing well, keep up the great work. But so as to not mislead anyone, the new protocol in the US is 4-6 oz, however if there is a medical or nutritional reason to do more than of course that is fine.

@tole21874 January 1

4-6 oz was the original amount when Ideal Protein began in 2009. Dont forget you will still be getting another 45 grams of protein in the IP products.

@welford not on the new plan.
by (8.1k points)
@welford, no. US is 4-6 oz, but couldn't be changed in Canada due to their regulations.

Yes I am in Canada and it is due to our nutritional guidelines my coach said the 6ozs doesn’t meet our guidelines

Like their dollar. Canadian beef has less protein.
by (520 points)
Does the US 4-6 ounces refer to cooked weight? The Canadian refers to the weight prior to cooking
by (520 points)
That’s a big difference I am losing well on 6oz of cooked weight protein. I can’t imagine less

@serin Canadian meat has the same amount of protein. It has to do with the country”a nutritional guidelines as already mentioned.
by (11.4k points)
@devi so you can continue 6. The new US is 4-6, you are on target!

@cuneal —Guys. my bad. I was completely joking!
by (1.1k points)
@serin Ah yes less beef in our dollar but at least we have a PM that doesn’t have beef for brains lol. completely joking!

I’m in us and she told me we are 6-8 ounces. So you can decrease if you want but can also stay at 8

Calories. The new US plan is dangerously low cal with the reduced protein. Bar code scan all your non-restricted and enter your protein. On a fish day, you are lucky if you hit 650 calories. You could pass if you eat the heavier restricted or occasional but . it’s still too low cal. Our food standards are higher in Canada.

@concatenation It seems very little food. For a grown adult. I dont know if I agree with it been so low . I did the diet 4 to 5 years ago and was more food.
by (1.1k points)
@concatenation I agree! Too low especially for busy adults, parents or people w/ jobs that require a lot of physical work.

@pinfold - yes. It doesn’t factor in the very tall, men, age, athletes. The protein and packet levels should be adjusted for all these factors that require more calories. IP works so well because the outliers are starving but it’s not healthy. I am not sure how this recent reduction in protein passed for the US.

@concatenation Yeah . my fiancé and mom were really worried about me when I started in January. I push my toddler in his stroller for a nap . for about 30 minutes, 7 days a week so I needed to adjust my diet plan & do the alternative plan.

Different due to the country’s nutritional guidelines. But your coach can freely adjust to each individual’s needs.

I do not think anyway. that the 2 oz will make a difference on weight loss. protein is good to take. to keep the muscles healthy

My clinic won’t change to the lower protein. It’s a cardiology clinic and my coach said that is too low.
