Hey ladies, I hope u moms are hanging in there and all your hair hasn't turned gray. what a craaaazy time we are in. I'm scared to ask but has any1 heard anything about summer camps this yr and if so are you hesitant to send your kiddos? What are working parents doing with their kids this summer?

I asked a couple places and was told they are playing it by ear and don’t know. I am debating having someone watch my 2 and My sisters 1 at my home . Not sure what alternative there is

We have our high school babysitter coming on the days my husband and I are both working.

I was looking into summer camps yesterday and didn’t see anything. I think the park district is currently closed? I am set to go back to work soon so I was also in need of a summer camp but no luck finding one.

NPD has suspended registration but is still planning to open. I think registration will be in June.

Naperville park district is supposed to have a soft opening June 15th

@herzberg yikes. I would not feel safe sending my son to any programs this summer. Especially with this multisystem inflammatory syndrome they’ve just discovered in children.

Mine is doing virtual camps. “Suppose” to resume in July. If Illinois gets to the phase it’s suppose too

Mine is registered for virtual camp through Avery Coonley School. The website has info but isn’t updated re virtual camp. They have 3 2-week sessions for K-8. The camp will serve less kids than in-person was supposed to. We also hope to register for virtual French camp through Concordia Language Villages. http://www. concordialanguagevillages. org/summer2020. They have 1 and 4-week sessions for 8-18 yr olds. Not all day but hopefully some stimulation. We are looking for a virtual cooking camp and a virtual music camp if anyone has a recommendation.

The cub scouts have summer camp over by edward hospital area. for anyone. don't have to be a scout . i believe they are still a go but also playing it by ear. It is a well run camp, i was a mom volunteer and they do a nice job with lots of activities.

@fromma Cub Scout summer day camps for the Three Fires Council (that serves most of this area) that were scheduled for June are tentatively being rescheduled for July.

I decided to pull my older one from the YMCA camp he was signed up for since it’s so up in the air. I also disenrolled my younger from daycare from the summer. I work in the hospital so I need a solid summer plan for the kids, we hired one of our former nannies back full time to start June 1

For my 10-yr old, camp is virtual, sleepaway camp is cancelled, and the acting camp is hoping to use a social-distancing approach. We are planning to add more virtual camp and Sports activity if offered. For the 2-year old, daycare is still closed so we are seeking a college student for some babysitting. It’s been pretty tough.
