Depending on age of your child, Wisconsin has some fun stuff right over the border. There is jelly belly factory, then head on up to the beach and the dinosaur museum (free). There are some street cars you can ride for free (or maybe it was . 50). There’s also a cool old time museum to walk through for free. You can climb up to the top of a lighthouse too. Then stop at Mikes donuts and chicken for an amazing donut before you head off to dream park. Dream park is the most amazing park geared for all ages and all levels of kids. It’s made for handicap kids too. Everything is accessible to all levels. It has a mini Meijer store to play in, tons of slides and swings and tunnels. You can spend the whole day there. There is also a fun little train resturaunt to go to for lunch right there at union station. This is all in Kenosha WI As for Iowa, head up to Antique archeology to see the cute store from the show, drive down into downtown LeClaire and walk the strip and shop in the cute little shops. You can go see the boats too on the Mississippi. There is a really good German place to eat at on the way down too (I’d have to look up the name) it’s a fun little get away town. If you drive further up there’s a cool arboretum too that you can head to with a butterfly sanctuary too. Indiana has one of the best children’s museums. You’d need a over night though since it’s a bit of a drive. The Indianapolis children’s museum is amazing! We bought a season pass because we love it so much. We stay at union station over night and sleep in the train cars. It’s a cool experience. The museum itself is huge and has so much to do and see at it. There’s also dairy oaks farms in Indiana which is a little closer, the Albanese factory is a great little quick stop to grab some gummy bears at too! Shipshewana has a awesome safari to go to if your interested in something fun and different. It’s run by amish type people and is super fun. You take a ride on a tractor type ride and get up close and personal with the animals. Then you can walk through the safari and feed animals such as goats. Pigs and ducks. (It’s called Dutch Creek Farm animal farm) There’s so much to see and do outside of Illinois! Just depends on how adventurous you want to be! Enjoy!
