The only thing I know about Thermidor is that my neighbor has one in her house and pretty much has to pay hundreds of dollars every year to have it fixed. For the price you pay to repair it she could've bought a new stove each year. Unless you're a gourmet chef I would go with the Bosch.

@labroid thanks

@labroid the sales person was more interested in Bosch . so just wanted to make sure if she’s just pushing because of comission

@not30310 She probably is, but I still don't think a Thermidor is worth the price.

@labroid l do have to disagree as we have one over 20years of heavy use. What is your friend's issue that she has it repaired every year? Maybe that particular model had some issues?

@mccormac1 which model do you have ? It seems thermadore is Bosch product more high end
by (420 points)
@mccormac1 I am by no means saying that it's a bad product. I'm saying that if you were to get a faulty one the cost of repairs are not worth it unless you were a heavy user. Everyone will have their own opinion and that's what she asked for.

I have Bosch and I love it . the only issue is that the cooktop scratches easily so need to use non abrasive cleaners .

Going on over 20years+ on 36" Thermador gas stove and this beauty never dissapointed, never had to fix, only some periodical minor clean for gas flow, we do maybe 1x a year. Cooking daily and love it, next one will be same brand.

@not30310 recently, l told my hsbnd that if this thing dies, l will be sad and want the same, best appliance in the house and it wasn't cheap back then.
by (270 points)
@mccormac1 it’s not cheap now too. But I feel older appliances were more Sturdier than any newer appliances I am sure this will last next 20 years
by (420 points)
@mccormac1 I do have to agree that appliances bought 20 years ago are made much better and higher quality than appliances today no matter what the brand
by (12.4k points)
@labroid exactly! Anything made 20yrs+was solid, reparable, frok m 10yrs ago lasts maybe next 10, if you are lucky, the most frustrating part of all:/
