Yes, as long as you have everything you need when you go, it should be good. But, their system went down statewide when I went so I help out for an additional 45 mins to see if the system would come back up and luckily enough, it did. I would say that was a fluke but same thing happened to my husband and he ended up having to go to aurora.

If you have everything they ask for. it is very easy. My mom got held up for only having a certified COPY of her birth certificate. Had to be the real deal.

You dont need it at all if u have a passport correct?
by (480 points)
@halcomb3282 you just have to remember to bring your passport on ALL domestic air travel, not just international, after 10/1/20. A regular license won’t be accepted. Mine was expiring this year anyway so I just figured “why not” with the Real ID. same price & no more hassle vs renewing the regular license.

Easy process. I went on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in the morning and waited about an hour but they were very polite. The checklist on the IL government website made it easy to know exactly which documents you need.
