In case you don’t know, you have to reserve park shelters through the Oswegoland Park District.

I had my sons 4th birthday at Phillips park. We rented out the big shelter, kids had the park and zoo and now they have a small splash pad.

Philips Park in Aurora is awesome! Small zoo right there you can walk around, covered pavilions, there is a small splash pad and large park with swings, slides etc. Something for everyone!

I wouldn’t want something by the river anyway because I get eaten alive by mosquitoes and I always remember the bridge over the river being very buggy during the summer

Not sure how far you want to go, but Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville has covered seating next to a playground. No reservations needed but it’s first come first served.
