We’re interested in adopting a puppy and are having a really hard time! We’ve filled out numerous applications, but have yet to hear back. Does anyone have any ideas where we could look, other than the obvious (PetFinder, etc)?

Contact @austriahungary with Rescued Rascals she's is also in Oswego. I contacted her for a friend looking for a puppy, and within two days the friend had a puppy and she loves her to death!

Go to TLC in homer glen. They are great people and want to get dogs adopted. No applications or hoops.

Go to anderson animal shleter. You can ciew the dogs they have avaiable. Wide variety of dogs and an easy porcess. You walk in and wak out the same day with a dog.

K9 Enrichment Initiative-K9EI Rescue has a lot of puppies in foster care right now, please apply online and mention specific dogs by name that you're interested in. I'm currently screening applications for Keen right now. You can view pups available on petfinder, their website or their facebook page too!

For anyone else reading this post or looking, just a friendly reminder that rescues are usually all volunteer based organizations, running on "skeleton" crews as it is. The volume of rescuing happening due to shelter closures is skyrocketed as is the volume of applications. The rescue that we have been helping with has almost 1, 000 applications in the cue. Be patient, mention dogs by name that you're interested in on your application and just overall have grace with the folks trying to help these pups!

Rover Rescue! We adopted our sweet girl there almost 4 years ago. It’s a smooth and easy process and you may be able to take the pup home the same day!
