Took out a 401k loan to pay off CC debt. Paying interest to myself made more sense than paying interest to credit cards. Freed up cash to pay it back faster and pay off other debt faster

Hired a fiduciary, stopped spending so much and began to save more. It’s working. Taking a little hit with being furloughed until further notice, though.

I started a new job in a completely different industry in 2009. That allowed me to triple my salary after a year and a half.

Moved to west Texas for 3. 5 years so husband couple work in the oil industry and pay off debt 15 years faster. SUCKED.
