How do you determine what toys to get rid of? I have 4 kids and I'm overwhelmed with toys. Some are just things I plan on keeping and packed up already. but some stuff they play with very little but then it disappears and they want it back.

I felt like I couldn’t get rid of anything either so I made a toy rotation and it’s helped a lot. Anything they don’t ask for I get rid of after a couple of months. Making the toy rotation took a few days and a lot of clear storage bins but my house has been so clean since doing it and clean up only takes a few minutes each day.

Also — anything that is broken, missing pieces, or is a duplicate is gone.

If you have some storage space, you can put half toys away for a while and then switch them. My kids loved that because it felt like they got new toys.

I have been doing too much purging lately. I have my keep section and than every so often go back through it again and again. it feels good to let go. I never thought I would say that. I have things from my 25 yr old still. lol

I rotate often so if they ask for something out ask what to put away or just have another thing out

Only keep what they can clean up themselves. Also, if you eliminate broken toys, toys missing pieces, tiny junk toys first you can see what you have left. I then group toys into categories and keep only so much from each- building toys, pretend play, etc.
