Has anyone ever had a motion detector cause a false alarm with no apparent reason for it to be triggered? I have no pets in the home. It is installed in my living room a few feet from the front door which I rarely go in or out of. I have 2 others installed the same relative distance from the floor. I know they suggest putting it up high with pets, but it has now caused 2 false alarms in the past 3 weeks. I’ve had the alarm system with professional monitoring well over a year with no other major issues. I haven’t reached out to customer support yet. The last time this happened they called my emergency contact after dispatching the police because I missed their phone call (left my phone on my desk at work while I was in a meeting). It has a full battery, is set to only be monitored in away mode, and is on the lowest sensitivity setting for fewest events. Any insight would be appreciated!

I think I’d put it on an active notification while home and the system is unarmed and try to determine if it’s detecting heat from a vent while the furnace is running or something else.

Yes. I have one inside a gun safe and it goes off occasionally.

Is it pointed toward a window? The motion sensor works on detecting body heat. Thermal changes of an object heating up in sunlight or otherwise can trigger it
