Question

I’m having issues with one particular outside camera in activating to go live. it often takes a minute to come up if at all. Other times it gets activated almost immediately. Any suggestions?

I have the same issue with my new Stick Up Cam. All my other devices load live view right away (using ring, or rapid ring) and my stick up will load sometimes and other times it just keeps loading. I had similar problems with my original and this is a replacement.

My spotlight cam has an RSSI of - 64 and loads instantly, while my stick up cam is hit, or miss, and is - 54. I get 20 mb upload at each camera, so I know speed isn't the issue. I think the new Stick up cams aren't s good as my ring 2 and spotlight cams. All on battery by the way.

Maybe try using a WiFi channel in the middle of the band. Mine wasn’t happy on channels at the edges of the band.

I got so fed up tinkering with wifi I got all POE cams. I have a UniFi WiFi network at home, and if I were to go wifi again, I’d probably put some outdoor access points outside.

If you're at home, you may need to get a mesh system for better broadcasting. If you're out of the house, this is a common issue due to the cellular provider's network. Until 5G is up and running strong, it will be difficult to open live view due to the lack of the cellular strength needed (although you may see 3 - 4 bars).
