Anybody had experience using an Amazon fire TV stick to view the Ring Doorbell 1? Thinking if getting one just for that, as my main source of TV is Sky.

You have to use the remote to tell the Fire Tv to show front door. The fire tv must be turned on. So if you are watching something on Sky you would have to shift to the fire stick. Doesn’t make it worth the effort. Here in the states if you have an echo show you can set it up to automatically display on the show when the doorbell rings.

@unintentional524 do you know if the doorbell shows up on the echo show in the UK at all or is it only rolled it in the US at the moment

You can tell Alexa to show the camera on the TV through the fire TV cube. Without a remote

@caudillo but again would not fire tv have to be active before it would work.

The cube is fire TV. and it listens for a wake word like a dot would. And if your TV auto wakes, you don't even have to turn the TV on.

But yeah . You'd have to link your ring to the fire cube through the ring skill

On my fire tv it takes forever to connect if it connects. On my echo show 5 it only takes seconds to see the camera.

It takes a bit longer for the video to connect on the tv. Other than that, it’s okay. I have issues with the microphone working through the tv.

@tarsia are you talking about the ring mic working on the tv. It did not work on mine and I don’t think it is capable of doing it.
