Is anyone having trouble with the new PAR38 outdoor bulbs? Mine will not work. I also ordered the bridge with the bulbs and ring had to send me another one because of that not connecting to my wifi. I have the new bridge up and running now it's the lights out of the original order giving me issues.

You have to set up the bulb and any other Ring light device with it within a few feet of the bridge. That is not mentioned in the video instructions for setting up the bulb though. I just set up my A19 bulb in a light fixture outside and it wouldn’t connect to the bridge. Once I set it up using a lamp inside closer to the bridge and moved it outside again it worked fine.

@robalo no such luck. The bulbs worked great inside but outside they say saying Offline. These current English second language customer service reps ring has now are nearly useless. Tomorrow in the daylight they are saying i need to flip my breaker box and start over. I'm going to humor them but I am very doubtful. Any suggestions?

@eec0 I’m surprised. My A19 bulb wouldn’t connect when I first put it outside, but after setting it up inside by the bridge it worked fine outside. The only thing I can think if is make sure the light switch for your outside light fixture you are using is left on all the time (i know that is probably obvious). Also try plugging your bridge in an outlet closer to the light fixture you are using. Maybe the breaker switch thing will work, but it does seem odd you would need to do that.

@robalo odd indeed. I'll try moving the bridge now. And yes, the switch has stayed on all day ever since the bulbs were put in this morning.

If you keep having trouble, I’m sure they will send you another one for free. Everyone says they are good about doing that when needed.

@robalo and I have 2 more bulbs in process but I find it odd that I even have to do that. Seeing as they sent me a new bridge when come to find out there was nothing wrong with the old one, I just needed to Uninstall the ring app and reinstall, everything went up and runnig then.

Hey Megan. A couple of us were experiencing the same thing a day or 2 ago. It was a known problem by Ring and they were working on a fix. I noticed today my firmware number had changed. I haven’t had my lights go off line and back online. I’m going to see how tonight goes.

@nehemiah I spent over an hour on the phone with them about the lights just now and they acted as though I was the only one with the issue. They are sending me out replacements but I feel like they weren't behind honest about existing issues.

My lights will simply not cut on to even begin the set up process. I even unscrewed them and put my original bulbs back in with no issues so I know it wasn't the light sockets. Very frustrating.

Hi @eec0, this is not the experience we want you to have. Once you receive your replacement, I would be happy to connect with you if you have any continued concerns. Please direct message me any time if you would like me to take a further look. Thank you!

Go low voltage. always on you can get steel fixtures for less than what these plastic units cost and they are way brighter in appearance and lumens as well.
