Is 5mb upload enough for the FLC? Planning to put this over the garage (calling an electrician). Some say the 5mb is not enough bc of multiple cameras I’ll be running. I have Xfinity as my isp. ♂️

Run a speed test, most xfinity 5 mbps is actually running around 15mbps. I would think unless you are trying to watch multiple cameras at once, you should be fine.

I had to go business internet because of the bandwidth cap on xfinity. Just be careful if you start getting warnings. 2 cameras should be fine though as long as you dont stream your tv

I think 5mb is low. I heard that you need 3mb per device. I have Xfinity and had to add a wifi extender for my flc. Also the upload changes at each device, which is the key. Get near each device and run the test. Good luck.

You will not be needing to be uploading simultaneously all the time unless you group your cameras.

People are forgetting all the other devices he’ll have hooked up to the WiFi at the same time as the cameras. I would upgrade your internet to at least 15 your gonna have issues with only 5mb.

As long as that’s what the cam is getting you should be good. However, if you’re not including any walls, doors, metals doors and building construction materials the signal needs to get past to each the cam, then Probably not.

No reason to upgrade your Internet until you have problems. Most cable Internet services will upgrade your speed very quickly (sometimes in an hour or less)

5mbps should be fine! I have 6 Ring cams running, plus 4 Ring lights. Comcast 230 down, 16 up - Motorola surfboard modem and Google mesh! 24 devices total! Not a problem! Buy your own modem without WiFi, then add the mesh!
