I have a ring security system with door sensors to the patio doors going to the pool. Is it possible to set up zones or shoud i get a different alarm just for doors to the pool? Is it possible to run 2 separate ring systems?

You can bypass sensors as if they weren’t even on the system. Ring only has 1 partition. So if you wanted an area armed and another unarmed it wouldn’t really work with ring.

@migratory so everytime i want to arm the pool zone i would have to bypass all the other sensors?

All sensors arm when the alarm arms. the only way to choose a sensor is to bypass the others. in the case of door sensors have them open when you arm, and choose bypass, then close them. This is the one thing keeping me from getting a Ring alarm. My current alarm is so much more customizable

You could use the home mode and only have the pool door sensors set to trigger it.

I believe what you want can be achieved through modes but if you wanted those sensors to be independent of the rest you would have to have two different alarms. I think another option would be to use smart things with motion sensors and various sensors similar to that.
