Maybe the battery is low? Charge it up? How old is the battery? They only last like a year or so. Maybe it's time to get a new battery. I stay away from the battery units myself. I don't like the idea that a battery could run flat while I'm away and can't replace it promptly. All of the units I have are either plug in or wired to the house power.

@compote I think they said it's wired.

OIC. yes, yes they did.

@compote it’s not a battery unit. It’s plugged in to the main. Which is why I am asking the question.

@aviva9881 the new SUC is actually a battery unit, but it plugs in. So it still has all the battery features, except it can be plugged in to save from charging. That being said, if you cannot customize your motion zones, then you don't have a hardwired device.

@pentosan53231 so do I need to put a battery in it to stop the notifications? I can change the motion zones.

@aviva9881 a while back several posted about this, and I think the consensus was it is a software update problem. Motion zones like you show are on battery devices, a truly hardwired one has customizable zones where you can draw lines.

@aviva9881 I don’t believe there is a fix yet, probably need a ring software/firmware update to correct it.

The wired stickup cam also has a battery compartment. I am using these outdoors, unfortunately, the power cords will be somewhat exposed. I have chosen to use both the power cord and battery. So if someone can reach the high electrical cord and cut it, the battery should keep recording should the device get stolen. If you are not using the battery does this device record longer than 20 seconds.
