Pretty much agree on all but the title. The title is useful as an action tool. When you hover over an image with a title, the title text will appear near your mouse. When an image is linked, it can be used to describe the expected action. "Click to Enlarge" or "Click to read more. " or sometimes even things like "Photo Credit: Bob Cameraman" It's redundant as the same as the alt. People who can "see" the image don't need it described and the people who can't see it will see or hear the alt text anyway. The title can drive the experience or expand the experience without distracting from the main path to goal.

Love your insight on the Title text! Thanks for sharing.

A title should be the title of the image, not a CTA text. I would consider something as spam if the title of the image is “Click to enlarge”.

@blackington in the day of Google Algorithms, that's a valid point. Perhaps Google would take that into effect.

First, I would uninstall Yoast. Second, I write alt tags that describe the image. They are for people who cannot see.

@boatload, I currently have a site without Yoast, and it's doing well. I would like to experiment more sites without it. However. I work for an agency and would hate to put them in a bad situation if I got hit by a truck. Most people understand Yoast. How do you work around that?

@pepper I use SEO Press. It’s much better.

@boatload A year ago, I was looking into that plugin. Life gets busy and I never followed up. Thanks for sharing.

@boatload are you willing to do a live tutorial on SEO press?
by (14.2k points)
@pepper Maybe. It's really not that complicated if you are familiar with Yoast though. But if I can help, sure.
by (370 points)
@boatload I'll try to find time and look to see if I have it installed on any of my personal sites.

@pepper It literally has a 1-button option that imports all your settings from Yoast.

@boatload Do u mean SEO press is doing much better than yoast seo
by (14.2k points)
@sedgewick I don’t know what you mean by doing much better, but it is definitely a much better coded plugin. It doesn’t release with tons of shitty bugs like Yoast has consistently done.

@boatload OK does it have provisions of placing more than one keyword?
by (14.2k points)
@sedgewick I don't know. I would never use that option on Yoast or any other plugin. It's dumb. I do not care about the "green dot" sort of evaluation.
by (420 points)
@boatload Sir I just wanted to if I can be allowed to add more than one keyword
by (14.2k points)
@sedgewick I have no idea. It's not something I would ever use, so I never paid attention to it.
