Hey Folks - New to the group and looking for some guidance. I use Google Home for any of my automation because its simple and straight forward. I work in tech and dont want to be programming things on the weekend. Its also really easy for my kids to use. I have Chromecasts all over my house for different zones of music. Overall, it works perfectly. One challenge I have is how I integrate my Google sourced music through my Chromecasts and seamlessly switch between Google Music and TV audio through my receiver. For example. In my basement, I have an Onkyo receiver that receives audio from a TV box, a DVD player, and from google. It sends the audio to a 5. 1 set of speakers. My challenge is that if I was watching TV or a DVD in my basement the last time I was down there, my voice command to tell google "Play Music in the Basement" won't work as the receiver is set to the wrong input. Are there newer receivers that will automatically sense the incoming signal and switch inputs? Or receivers that google can control to switch inputs? Or receivers with google cast built in? Appreciate any simple solutions to solve this problem!

Add a harmony hub to control the onkyo. Onkyo also has an automation api, but I doubt google supports it.

New model Onkyo and Integra AVR’s have Google Chromecast built in. Audio only. Also work with Google Home Assistant.

Good question, not sure. I’ve played with it but since I have Control4 I tend to customise all my voice commands and scenes there. This way I can control anything they way I want even if Google Home Assistant can’t control it directly.
