@lixivium3 is Zwave better than Zigbee ?

@lixivium3 I will need light switches that do not require a neutral !

@sonja You’ll eventually, if you don’t already , have both Zigbee and Zwave. The discussion of the pros and cons of each is a never ending debate. By far both are better than Wi-Fi devices. Think about how you want to build networks for both and plan to have AC powered of both throughout your home. When it comes to home automation, nothing good is cheap , nothing cheap is good.

Look under "works with smart things" on the app or on their website to see if they can integrate. I personally never worked with Osram so I'm not sure.

Osram lightify is zigbee not wifi. And yes it connects to ST. You need to put the lights in pair mode by plugging in the lights and unplugging them multiple times until it turns to a different color. I dont know the exact color but look it up on how to reset the lights. I had the same issue and I had to do this.

@sonja then no they will not hook to ST. Wifi devices are not compatible

I have OSRAM and Sylvania Lightify bulbs connected to SmartThings, but I use the original Sylvania gateway most often.

@vitriolic31848 I just saw an article that claims the cloud service will shutdown in August. Will that brick their hub?

@lixivium3 I couldn't imagine how it could, but I'm not sure.

I have several Lightify bulbs and light stripsConnected to ST And they work well. They paired easily also. As far as the sylvania gateway. they are shutting that down very soon.

@virgievirgil It sucks because SmartThings was able to upgrade the firmware and the Lightify hub wasn't, but the the Lightify hub has a lot of cool dynamic light scenes that my kids enjoy. Can't do dynamic light displays with SmartThings, at least without them insanely over fucking complicating things

Completely agree.
