So, it seems like the new Smartthings app is being pushed harder. I've not made the switch but have both apps loaded on my Android phone. Routines are now "automations" and I have to manually make new ones, correct? I don't see them moved over to the new app.

Once the Migration Tool goes live, it will migrate Routines to Scenes+Automations and SHM to STHM. Note that the migration tool is one-way. Meaning after it has migrated your Routines and SHM, you will no longer be able to create/view/edit the legacy Routines or SHM. (You'll have to use Scenes or STHM) This has implications if you are using community apps like SharpTools, ActionTiles, or WebCoRE as you'll lose support for controlling your Routines and SHM. There are workarounds for controlling Scenes and STHM via virtual switches or location modes, but it's something to be aware of.

Oh boy, this sounds like it could turn into a huge mess. @magnify924 is there documentation on this somewhere? This is a little bit frightening to here because I rely on a lot of these types of apps.

Ugh - are there plans to support community integrations eventually? This is really disappointing to hear.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to move to an open source platform like Home Assistant.

That you have no control over, and if things go wrong, there’s no going back. What a terrible situation to be in with something you need to control your home.

Ha! Ok, so it’s either controllable by manual processes, or by a system that is forcing you to a potentially broken version of it. Sounds like a great opportunity to migrate to something you have more control over. Answers come in many forms, and people searching benefit from more more than just your accepted response since not everyone will be willing to let companies dictate to them when to change their home automation. Unnecessary to you, apparently. Unnecessary to the community, not so much.

I Would wait until more people migrate and the issues are worked out because there is no going back. You can still use and experiment with the new app before you fully switch. The new app has the potential to be way better than the classic. Just have to be patient.
