Is there any zwave or zigbee wireless remotes/switches that you could add to the wall without having a gang box? Trying to make a 3way switch. Basically what Lutron does where you can make any smart switch a 3way switch. Thanks!

I do prefer the Aqara buttons but I could never get ST to recognize that it was present.

No issue. GitHub Download of Driver and done. Best is the one in the living room under the table. Hold and room goes Red.

Smartthings button or Phillips hue switch and probably a plethora of others. Failing that, fibaro and I think Aotec make units that turn dumb switches into smart switches but I think you need a neutral behind the switch which most house's won't have.

@demonstration I haven’t ever used Phillips hue products. Do you need the bridge from them to make it work? Or will it connect directly to SmartThings.

@gavette8 I have a bridge but don't know whether the lamps will talk to ST directly. I suspect they would but don't know for certain. Other people say on this forum that they can get the switches to show up on the ST app as well but I have never delved into it but can't see them on mine. That said, it doesn't affect the way I use the systems as I create virtual switches in ST for anything I want to switch through my phone when I want to switch more than 1 lamp at a time in a room or several rooms.

Physically installed in the wall without a box would be against code, probably everywhere. The switch is 110v, 15 or 20A house current.

@absenteeism lutron has remotes that just stick on the wall and are battery operated. I’m looking for something like that.

I picked up a couple ikea tradfri bulbs and switches lay week fit like $12. They work great. Look more like a European switch but do the job well. You can get a switch by itself for like $7

Check out the Aeotech wallmote. USB rechargeable set of buttons. If not lutron caseta is a good option. You can get wireless remotes to stick to the wall.

I used the Sylvania switch that goes over a regular light switch. I installed a two switch cover plate and screwed the Sylvania over the blank.
