When making an automation, can I make it with any and one specific condition met? For example, if any 5 sensors are tripped AND I'm away. do whatever? So basically IF I'm away, and IF ANY sensor is tripped, then do x.

You can't do IF "any" AND "mode is away" THEN X You would have to set up 5 separate automations like: IF "sensor 1" and "mode is away" THEN IF "sensor 2" and "mode is away" THEN And so on.

This is easy to do in the new app

@ghiselin yeah it's not too bad if you only have 5. I bet webcore can do it.

K. Is webcore inside smartthings? Like smartapp?

It's a whole separate thing for complex automations but that's all I know.

@ghiselin webcore is a very flexible rules engine built by a member of the community. If it stopped working tomorrow then my entire house would too. It is exactly what you're looking for. At one point I was switching on my study heater on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at either 6am or 8am on alternate weeks. I have an automation that reminds me every 10 mins if I've left the deep fat fryer on, or the garage door open. This one deals with telling me when the dryer is finished and reminds me to empty the lint filter. (Speak relies on another smartapp called echo speaks)

Ok. What is webcore though? An app in the play store? An add on? PC program? Does it run completely independent of smartthings?

Webcore is a smartapp that runs in the ST platform like other smartapps. It is however very flexible to create Automations, and I find it easier to use than trying to get the Automations in the new app to work for anything but the most basic.
