I took my 4 year old son to get passport photos in the photo booth in Boots, but he was too small to get his face in the circle even with raising the stool. Are there any apps I can use to get passport photos printed and sent to our address? This is for a paper application that has already been sent off but they asked for a new countersignatory.

I did my sons very first passport application online and took the photo with my phone. It passed. Hes 1 so it was a nightmare taking the picture lol

Yep, we did the same with our daughter this time last year. Just sat her in front of a plain coloured wall and kept taking photos until she eventually looked straight ahead. Was absolutely fine

Follow the online instructions and take your own.

@woodland I had to do a paper application.

@jube2346 but you could still take you own photo and print it, if you have a printer.

In certain Tesco stores they have a photo shop that does passport photos there about £8 I think but they make sure they are done properly for passports

They’re not currently open inside the Tesco stores.

I did mine all online in front of a white background. It tells you straight away if it needs re doing. Really easy

@chivalrous43 I've had to do a paper application so photos need to be print ones.

@chivalrous43 take the photo then go get it printed

@regardless Everywhere is closed because of the Coronavirus, otherwise I would've just taken him to get professional passport photos. That's why I asked about an app.

I recently got my sons done. You can do the coutersigning and everything online. Once you do the application and take the photo you enter the email of the person you want to countersign, they get it almost instantly and they can do it online x

Take the photo yourself and do it online. I just done it with my driving license and took my own photo in the house. As long as its a plain white background

What’s the reason you have to do a paper application? We did our daughters first ever passport online last year (she was 1 at the time). Just sat her in front of a plain coloured wall and took photos until we got one of her looking the right way. It was accepted with no issues, and was cheaper and quicker than doing a paper one, getting it signed, sending off and waiting…

Timpsons are really good as they use a camera to take a picture and it is within guidelines

So many things wrong with this question right now. Number one: you’ll waste time on your child’s passport seen as flights are grounded for the foreseeable future. Number two. A passport photo isn’t classed as going out for ‘essentials’ only.

@diablerie lol I couldn’t agree more.
by (970 points)
@diablerie the application had already been sent off and they have requested a new countersignatory. Given how long paper applications can take, I'm guessing she wasn't in lockdown when she applied  I don't know how long the application will remain open for if it's already been received, but maybe there is a time frame hence the question.
by (500 points)
@diablerie she didn’t say she was going out. She asked for an app. You can send pictures you already have electronically to a printers and have them post passport sizes to you. If you have a home colour printer you can do the same with an app - she will also more than likely have had the photos done in Boots before the lockdown. Would be nice to ask rather than assume.
by (970 points)
@diablerie rather than make assumptions and be so judgemental, why don't you just scroll on. We are here to help each other - the lady that posted didn't say she was going out, she wants advice.

@sorci12 exactly what I was thinking. Real helpful comments from some here

@diablerie passports can be for so much more than just travel. We have no idea if the ID is needed for anything more pressing than travel. Just no need to be unhelpful.
