My daughter booked a trek holiday plus plane ticket through an ABTA protected company in august. She’s prepared to take vouchers. My thoughts are what if this company ceases to trade due to effects of crisis? I’m guessing ABTA won’t protect her if she’s agreed to vouchers?

If she paid by credit card she can get money back that way, but she must NOT CANCEL HER SELF!

@sharecrop no she paid by debit card. They’ve said they will give vouchers or transfer to another trip. The company is great so I hope they are around next year for her and I’m worrying over nothing

@giddens even some debit cards you can claim back on, check with the bank, but if they offering a transfer and still wants to go then take that option, as for the company going bust that’s where the abta should help

@sharecrop my credit card company, Lloyds, has said if you’re offered vouchers they consider the matter resolved and will NOT do a charge back or refund

@vries37 if the company goes bust the vouchers aren’t worth anything, so I guess that’s the time you’ll claim on ya card.

@sharecrop have you had success yourself? I'm with HSBC and have heard nothing after emailing my documents/evidence so will need to phone up. I had to reject the voucher option for my booking as the flights were for myself and mum who can't guarantee her time off work next Easter yet so didn't want to be stuck

@sorci12 no Martin Lewis was talking about it, a lot of people will be in the same situation, we’re due to go away end of June but don’t mind rescheduling providing we can get the time off, if not we’ll just take vouchers.

@lanciform447 that’s what I heard with ABTA protected firms. I heard it may take a bit longer which is fare enough. They are a great company so hoping they keep going
