OK so after Boris has put his road map out for us tonight. if we all behave (which seems impossible for some) when do people actually think holidays will start again?

@brunella the canaries are creating a health passport which you must have before travelling there

@beam2863 rightly so. Family members living there had tough 8 weeks on total lockdown - no one wants new outbreaks as tourists return to the islands .  that won’t happen x

@beam2863 you would need it BEFORE you travel then and UK not doing this as far as I know , just saying essential travel and then quarantine wen you arrive in UK, (about 6weeks late starting this ! )

I’d say don’t expect anything until next year as he said anyone coming into the country will have to quarantine for 2 weeks and other countries will probably be the same some already are x

I think it will be the last thing to be lifted. Probs not this year.

They won’t. Holidays are reliant on other countries also having a non existent infection Rate.

And if you are returning from abroad you will have to quarantine for 14 days. So you’ll need 3 weeks off work for that one in spain

@collier and quite possibly if other countries do allow us in you would be quarantined in where ever you stayed for 2 weeks also.

@collier Yh a month off work for a 2 week holiday x

Who knows we all have different opinions, they are all guesses. I do believe people who are saying next year, beware flu like viruses tend to be worst in winter so early next year I wouldn't travel.

Next year - that’s the reality. We have the 2nd highest number of deaths in the world - do you really think other countries will be willing to allow us to travel there? It’s a two way street, it’s not just down to the UK government.

Next year but probably double the price they were.

@tat94 we’ve transferred ours to Spain/Turkey to next year no increase in price (Jet2/Tui) but can’t comment on new bookings

Also we won't have the same welcome as before! I'm not happy for anyone to come here and it works both ways. Sadly this is far from over and many more will die. Why would you want to take the risk?

This is what I thought, thanks guys I'm not too fussed if we don't go as I'd rather everyone be safe and the money can go towards a new car anyways ☺️ I just wanted peoples opinions xx

It’s possible airlines that are running will hike up prices to make flights too expensive to get to some destinations . Can see peeps opting to drive to Spain if prices are expensive , once we are permitted back overseas .

1st of July Cyprus and Greece allowing people in for tourism. Still other issues to contend with, but as a home worker and many now proved they can be, it could kick start a small percentage of travel.

No, other countries will be wary of letting brits in due to the way the covid 19 has been handled.

I think it will start picking up in September. July and August are peak times but perhaps people will still be cautious. I love to travel but I also value my health so I am just hanging back to see what's happening in the world.
