Hi all, not really 'on a budget' but I can't think who else to ask. How long is 'long enough' for a transfer in the airport when flying to Australia? Looking at flights where there is a 1hr 55min changeover in Doha, is that long enough? I've never transferred before so don't know what happens with security and baggage etc and I don't want to get stuck in Qatar having missed a transfer! Thanks in advance x

That’s a decent amount of time. Time for a cuppa. Your luggage will all go to final destination. Have a great time x

If it's all booked on the same ticket, the airline will have to rebook you in the event of delay as they can't sell a ticket with less than that airport's minimum connection time. I've got a similar trip coming up coming back from Hong Kong with a 40min connection but because it's all on 1 ticket I know I'm covered if I miss the connecting flight. If it's 2 separate bookings, you will likely have to pick up bags and recheck them although some airlines are better than others and will check them all the way through

Doha has a fast lane for short connections. Friends of mine had a 20 minute connection there and managed it

Yes, I changed in Doha with similar transfer time. It's really simple to transfer there, very organised.

Although it was 11 years ago, my now husband I transferred in Doha. It was easy and the airport then was great and well equipped. You'll be fine with that transfer time. Everywhere is well sign posted. If you transferred in Hong Kong, it is just as easy even if you have to go to the other side of the airport to catch your connection x

Plenty of time to stretch your legs/refresh in the bathroom etc . pays to wait near your gate so you don't miss your flight.
