True confessions time: I have totally fallen off the wagon. I lost about 37 pounds from Feb-July 2019 and maintained until this danged coronavirus debacle. I got laid off, I am BORED, my big dream vacation (5 weeks in England and Scotland with a LOT of walking) has to be postponed/cancelled, my 90-yr. old Dad is having life-threatening health issues and I can’t be with him due to fear of COVID-19, the political climate makes me heartsick, and I feel like I have nothing to look forward to. So, I’ve been experimenting with cocktails and non-WW recipes and think I’ve gained about 7-8 pounds! I probably sound like an entitled whiner. I fully intend to re-commit, but I’m wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way? Help!

You are not alone. Now that you recognized the issue, get back on the plan. Stay busy. Turn off the kitchen light after your dinner meal. Only drink water after dinner. Read, go for a walk, but stay busy.

Baby steps-- Really. Do your best. That is all you have now. Instead of being motivated by the scale. Find your inspiration in NSVs. Ask yourself, "Did you drink more water? Walked more steps? Waved your hands wildly when you couldn't walk? Breathed more deeply? Slept better? " or " If you wanted to binge eat, were you able to find alternate choices? " We are living in a time of many unknowns, but you can determine what you are able to control by the choices that you make. Keep going.

Just get back on track. you know what to do. We all do. The WW plan is easy to follow. I relate to a lot of what you posted. We left Florida a month ahead of our scheduled vacation once the crisis started. My mom is in a nursing facility where visitors are not allowed and she cries for me. Its heartbreaking and my hands are tied. So eating a cookie or having s cocktail eases the pain but only for a minute. I too have to get back on track. It's not selfish, it's for our health. Good luck and God help us all.

@lockhart842. Can you record yourself & send it to your Mom? I feel so bad for you both.
by (6k points)
@judaica9474 thank you so much. Please send off a prayer for my mom. She is frightened and lonely. We do facetime once a week and she sees me. What a mess we are in right now.
by (29.5k points)
@lockhart842 Oh my yes! The nursing homes are worst off. Do u think it would help if I were to make a little something to hand out to seniors? Maybe cards or something? I will remember ur Mom. You can't talk to her everyday. I feel so bad for her.

I have lost NO weight in the past few months.  What I HAVE lost is my "Why", my "Resolve", my "Drive", my "Determination", my "Hope" and maybe even my "Care". Status quo . Struggling one day. Successful one day. Lazy then next. I think.. I think. my "You can do this" is dangerously slipping to. "Maybe, at this moment, with this box of crackers. maybe I just don't care enough to keep being strong. ". . . But (thank heavens) those moments are few and they pass. So, for right now, I'll be content with holding my own. Maybe my "WHY" is at the other end of Lock Down. Hopefully I'll find it, pick it up again and march on.

I can totally relate- I've been using the virus situation as an excuse to eat out of sheer boredom! I'm not really stressed and I do not have the issues that you are facing and sorry to hear about that, but I have gained close to 10 lbs. I feel I need my workshop meetings as that always seems to get me in a better place. I am doing the virtual workshops but for me they are not the same at all.
by (29.5k points)
@freeness Do you know the power of your words? Amazing! Maybe it is time for you to stop looking for help only & add giving to your program. When I go to meetings, much is given to me. But, I always feel it is my responsibility to offer to that meeting. Maybe a compliment, or a reference you came across or even a thank you. You just might have moved from the needing only to needing AN@pervious supporting. You've got this! We all do.

Feeling that way? Oh, yes! I don't have an aging parent but I do have a disabled son that I worry about all the time. I've been "rationing" food in that I want it to last as long as possible so I don't have to go into a store. I scrape a little off of dinner so it becomes the next day's lunch and I put 'snacks" in a dish so that I actually am counting the number, eating it in tiny bites. Maybe those little tips can help. Good luck. You did it once; you can do it again.

Are you kidding! You bet I am having a challenge. At shut down of life as I knew it was also the day my yoga retreat got cancelled. Knowing me & the way I just stop all the good changes I have accomplished, I knew I needed a PLAN & a strong one. My Dd &I started our @ home yoga retreat & continued our food plan! It has been 40 days now. We did 30 day challenge & into next 30. Began walking, too. Eating will always be a challenge & I plan & track EVERY DAY. I stay away from news as much as possible. it scares me. My son is a serious concern! That scares me! I spend days looking for my happy places. There are many. I watch for them & througly enjoy them. All the while I have faith that if I continue to strive, & look for ways to thrive, I will be just fine. Geeze, that sounds like life! You will be fine! I wish you peace in this difficult time for you. Remember, we are traveling together. We will go through this together. It is up to US to decide how. On with the day! I believe in all of us! ♥

I fell off the wagon this past fall after losing almost 45. It was all because of pumpkin spice everything. Anyway as all people do, January 2nd got back on the wagon total stand still up and down. last week I changed from Blue to Purple. My first weigh in on Purple was -1. 6 . Purple has 300+ zero point foods to include whole wheat pasta and brown rice oh and plain instant oats! Daily points are less, but maybe you just need to change it up. Good luck and stay safe and be well

You don't sound like a whiner you sound like you have a good amount of issues going on all at the same time. May I suggest an online counselor? Most states are making them available if not just for the virus for other times as well. Might be good to talk to someone since we're all stuck in one place here. And they do it via video. Sure - I think if we’re being honest with ourselves we can ALL relate to some degree. But remember. persistence not perfection! If you get to hard on yourself it will drive you to eat more. Go one meal at a time - if lunch wasn’t so good start right next to plan on a “program following lunch. For me breakfast & lunch are on program & it’s the last meal that sometimes gets me in trouble. Our leader always says if you’re can be on program 80% & 20 not so good you’re still going to lose - just slower.

We hear ourselves say " off track" over & over again. 1st thing is, how off can we be if we are still here? Not perfect? Never was. Have I ever been this far back to where I started? Oh yes, I often visit the old me & am happy to because I realize just how far I have come AND gives me courage to continue cause I never want to go back. So maybe this isn't me being so lost but me just visiting good ole me with the happy knowledge of going back to the me I really love. Not so bad off, I say. Just traveling on.

Thanks for sharing. I have been going through the same feelings and totally dropped the program. I know it’s an excuse but we’ve got some good excuses. I realize this “new normal” is going to be around for a long time. I started logging points today and getting out my exercise equipment. You’ll be in shape when you do make that big trip.

Same boat. It’s frustrating. I’m trying to focus on positive. Also doing the virtual meeting weekly with my ww peeps. That helps

Glyn. look forward. you cannot change yesterday! Jump back in there! Make good decisions 1 day at a time and the pounds will take care of themselves! I have lost the same 30-40 pounds several times. I feel your discouragement! Just take baby steps!

Ummm yes I’m feeling out of whack as well ! I’ll be honest I have maintained my weight but no loss and and I’ve been making more poor choices than usual. Try to force yourself on some daily Routine that includes a walk and or workout at the same time daily It really does make a difference in your mindset

This is not a diet. It is a lifestyle. A conscious decision to live and eat healthier. But it's a LIFEstyle. Life is full of ups and downs, moments of joy and despair, victories and failures. If you get a ticket, do you stop driving? If you burn dinner, do you stop cooking? If you strike out, do you stop playing ball? No, and that's what life is. Get back on the horse and get moving! You got this!
