Yes! I plateaued for weeks couldn't figure out why, then I started weighing my chicken and turkey. You would be surprised how many calories are in them. Just started to cut diwn on serving size, 3-4 ounces instead of the whole cutlet. My belly didn't complain, I would eat more if I was hungry, and the scale started moving again. Just trying to be more aware of how much I need versus how much I want. Can't wait for workshops to open because I think I hit the 100 pound down mark, but want the WW scale to confirm it!

It depends on what it is. If you are on a plan that includes corn, beans, chicken, eggs etc as "free" yes, I would measure carefully to keep yourself realistic about weight loss. But then that is why Im on green, I cant be trusted.

Zero point food still has calories so you do have to be mindful!

Veggies no. Starches and proteins, yes. I like to make sure I’m getting a lot of protein every day so I weigh those to check that. And I stick to a serving size or less of starches just because if I eat too much I don’t feel my best.

I have learned that one banana a day is zero points, but 4 a day is not zero points!
by (18.2k points)
@fredel it is on the app. But I was told years ago not to have more than 1 a day, that you will gain weight.

Yes they are zero points but you need to keep portion control. You can’t eat all the popcorn!
by (8.6k points)
@michaelmas10 I say I've eaten more popcorn than anybody else in the world. I buy too many bags a hundred calorie once and they are great I have one every other day or three
by (2k points)
@detraction specifically kind of popcorn?

All foods should be tracked because all foods have points except for most vegetables. If an egg is 2 points on green well it’s 2 pointers on blue. It shouldn’t be considered a Free food on blue.

@ecospecies but that's not weight watchers.
by (960 points)
@ecospecies that’s why there’s different plans on WW. Works different for different people
by (770 points)
@longdistance49864 I know it’s not ww now. I prefer the old plan to these new plans.
by (280 points)
@longdistance49864 follow the program you have selected and you will be fine. If you are just starting, you may want to track everything. Just a good practice so that you are "present " when eating. My . 02!

I don't measure salad items, green veg. I measure pulses, pasta, rice, pots and starchy veg otherwise my portion size will be out of control

I still track even if it's zero. I consider it a food journal, so whatever I eat/drink gets accounted for. Some foods are only 0 per serving, so if you eat more than that you need to track a point or 2. If I have a bad week I can go back and look at what I ate.

Always good to measure it. If in a month you can always look back and see exactly what you were eating. For example if you had a gain.

Yes, sometimes you can eat too much zero point foods. It’s not portion control if you don’t.
+67 votes
by (5.2k points)
Not right now. I still have 27 to lose. I did lose 40 and wasn’t measuring zero foods (gained 15 during quarantine because I was eating crap and more crap). Now I’m back on and down 9 and want to lose the last 27. As long as I’m losing I’m not measuring my zeros. When I come toward the end I may have to start if I’m not losing.

No only the protein chicken tuna and turkey
+24 votes
by (5.5k points)
No - I only eat the free protein (chicken, tuna, turkey breast and eggs). I find it hard to over eat those things. If I ate the free whole wheat pasta etc I probably would because I’m not very good at portion control on those kinds of things. I do track everything.
