Besides the arlo pro 2/3 what is another good brand of wireless security cameras? Just trying to weigh out the pros and cons between them

I run 7 arlo cameras with the Smart AI, then a few Reolink Argus cameras as a backup option.

@outgroup which do you like better and why

I like arlo the best for the AI alerts and its a more polished app. Reolink is decent but too many false notifications but they are releasing a new cameras soon with AI smart notifications as well.

If I had an extra $1, 000 I would get all arlo 2/3 cameras with solar panels, but solar panels after awhile look ., too tacky. and I don’t wanna invest in power cord options. EufyCam might be a good option as well.

@outgroup what is smart AI? Sorry, new to this.

Basically identify humans, animals, vehicles, packages from deliveries. So if you only want to be notified about humans it can do that instead of just a normal motion alert. Arlo has had this feature for years on their $ plans now others over last year or so are catching up.

Steve, do the Arlo pro 3s require a subscription and a different base station from the pro and pro 2?
by (32.4k points)
Yes. They require a subscription to record to the cloud. They don't necessarily need a different base station but do come with one if you buy a kit. The base they come with is called a smarthub

I know that Tenable tested Arlo’s security last year and it passed a lot of tests with very little issues. Unlike ring and others.
