Budget related question .  Does anyone make their own hair care products?Budget related question . Does anyone make their own hair care products? I have curly hair and use high end products but wondering if I can make something that’s natural and more cost effective.

I did curly girl and used VO5 products that really worked. The shampoo and conditioner are 77 cents each at Walmart. I alternated the clarifying shampoo and the moisturizing one with the strawberries on it. It was recommended on a curly girl page I followed. For a deep condition I used some of the conditioner with olive oil and did that once a week and it nourished my hair well. I don’t have tight curls but I have wavy hair and this worked best for me. Not necessarily natural but still free of harsh parabens, silicones and drying alcohols

Hi, have you tried the “curly girl method”?

In the curly girl FB groups, I've heard of curly girls using apple cider vinegar to cleanse, rice water rinse for deep conditioning treatment (I think), and making your own gel from flax seeds. You'd have to some research on the exact steps, but that might get you started!

I know the Curly Gurl Curly Girl (Method) Support Group International has a list of files for DIY hair care!
