So my crockpot has died. It’s had a crack for a long time and a few nights ago the crack gave way on it. Thankfully dinner was saved but the old beast is gone. I plan to pick up a new one at Costco but seriously till then, I had to change my entire food plan because it’s my meal saver! Any kitchen item that saves me time and therefore makes eating out unjustifiable is worth every penny! What kitchen item would you never be without AND somehow saves you money?!?
So my crockpot has died.

Crockpot. Check Goodwill or Salvation Army for one. My bf just got one for a few bucks & he tested it there to see that it worked. Id like to try an Instapot-when I can find a deal on one.

Here lately it's a mix of instapot and the instapot vortex. I got both as Christmas gifts (instapot over a year ago and the vortex this last year). I had never heard of the vortex and after a few trial things I really like it. I've learned how to adapt a few of my slow cooker recipes for the instapot that way if I forget to put it in the slow cooker, I can still easily make it for dinner with no stress!

@lucky crockpot now makes a version like the instapot. I got the crockpot express for Christmas and have used it every week.
by (2.9k points)
@lucky I’m the opposite. Got an insta pot. Used it for awhile & then sold it. Went back to my crockpots. I hate cooking when I get home. I like that the crockpot lets me walk in at the end if day to a meal ready to eat.

I seriously use my instapot sometimes twice in one meal. I cook at work full time, and like that I can come home and chop a couple things up and throw something good together. I LOVE that I can cook straight from the freezer when I forget to pull something out earlier or change my mind about chicken for dinner tonight. It has totally changed my life and my budget

Coffee maker (nespresso) is at the tp of the list. My crockpot, mixer, and food processor. I use them multiple times a week. Yogurt maker too, once ut warms up a bit. I see a lot of people saying "instant pot", and while I use mine almost weekly, I use my crockpot more.

My crockpots were my go-tos until my mom gifted me this big electric skillet now this gets used more. It's used for breakfasts (like eggs/sausage/hashbrowns all in one pan), lunches (grilled cheese/quesadillas) and my favorite use is making one pan dinners (like the cajun alfredo in the pic).

Espresso machine! I have one every morning. If I went to Starbucks for the same thing, it would be like $6 a day! It’s an investment piece, but it pays for itself really quickly for me.

My frying pan . Haven’t had a microwave in 2 yrs. I use my frying pan at every meal. It’s best for reheating leftovers.
by (16k points)
@jerroldjerroll42 yes agree. My microwave broke a few years ago and I never replaced it. Don’t even realize it’s gone. It freed up so much counter space too.

I have a ninja 4 in 1 or something like that. It looks like a crockpot but it also has a stove top feature, can be used as an oven or crockpot. I can brown my meat and then throw my ingredients in and use the crockpot setting. Less dishes and it does automatically go to warming after the set hours has finished. I’m also loving the instant pot that I got for Christmas. One pan for most meals that I make.

My cast iron skillet. That thing is a workhorse and it can be used to cook anything, on any surface. stove, oven, grill, campfire. Plus it’s heavy, so I can use it as a weapon, if needed.
