Has anyone been denied for a high-yield savings account because the information you provided about yourself during the application was "inconsistent with publicly available or adequate data"? I have no idea what this means. I answered all questions honestly. We both have great credit scores, minimal debt, relatively high income.

They couldn't match something you answered with to the data available on a site like Lexis Nexus. Best to call them and get it straightened out. It usually happens when someone has a name similar to a party or an address in your history is recorded in public records incorrectly

@townshend oooooh I bet it's the address thing! It asked for my current address and our previous, so i listed the house we have now and the house we sold before moving out of state, but we lived in a rental for less than 2 months in between- so I bet it's that I didn't include the rental!

Yes. We live over seas and they wouldnt let us open an account because we have a PO box here.
