Inspired by Miko's house purchase. What things do you want when your debt free? Both frivolous and practical? Or goals? I want to hire someone to clean my house every two weeks. I want to buy land in the mountains somewhere and put up a tiny house style cabin. I want to start a dog rescue and a dog cafe/brewery.

Larger college contributions and travel a lot more. We bought this house, but at that time I may be looking more into the forever home type of thing.

A home. Whether it ends up being our first or forever home I just want a home to own. My husband and I went from living with my parents, to getting our own apartment, now to living with his parents (long story about our own apartment). I don't want anything else. Maybe move out of Maryland. Hoping in the next 10 years we will own a house. And to take my daughter to disney land/universal studios. One day ❤

It will be nearly impossible for me to buy a home in the next 10 years (I'm near Toronto Canada and I'm single). So saving for a piece of land for retirement, helping my kids through post-secondary and saving for retirement are my priorities. But I can't live without travel so if retirement is pushed then I'm ok with that too.

1. Buy and fix up a little beach cottage 2. Save up for our dream home (and rent out our current townhouse) 3. Have a healthy savings for both of our kids. 4. Be able to comfortably work part time where pay isn’t the main priority doing something I love

I want for my family to not worry about paying my funeral expenses or hospital bills if something were to happen to me. I want my family to continue with their days without worrying about how to pay for things if mom is no longer here. I lost my dad when I was 16 and it was a financial struggle. I wish I would have started this debt free journey sooner because at this point I would be leaving my family in the same boat as my mom was when my dad died.

I want to be a secret benefactor. Someone who can swoop in pick up the tab or provide much needed financial assistance to people in need. Anonymously.

@bradstreet samsies. I had a stranger help me out of a terrible situation several years ago and I plan on paying it forward continuously. I am not financially stable yet but I like paying for peoples orders in the drivethru when I can.

@poynter419 I LOVE this! I get such a high from doing random acts like that. I’ve been blessed to have many help me out in tough situations, without even asking. To this day my favourite gifts are the ‘just because’ gifts. They mean more to me than the ‘forced date on the calendar’ gifts. So I like to do that for others. Let them know someone cares.

I have not really thought much about real goals. I want to be in a position where I don’t have to constantly think “can I afford this? ” Like others though, I want to set my son up for success, be debt free before 50 so I can retire on time and focus on family. Of course that would include travel and other things.

Put as much money in retirement as possible. Being almost 43 with no retirement scares me to death, but 100k in debt scares me more.
