Good morning!  I apologize if this has been asked before.Good morning! I apologize if this has been asked before. I did a search and could not find anything recent. I am trying to help my sister find decent medical insurance. She is 32, overweight, high risk for diabetes. She has some issues going on with her lungs and always being sick. She works for a small business so no options there. Are there any recommended insurance companies that you use? She received a quote from HeathNet. $472/month with $4000 deductible. It’s time she start looking for a new career but that will take some time. Thank you for the direction here.

Start with the state.

Healhcare. gov is good for Affordable Care Act plans, but I believe you can only sign up during open enrollment in the fall or if you've recently lost other insurance. Some states will let you enroll anytime, though, so it's worth checking out.
