Nothing. Until they graduate from high school! As long as they are saving their money for their future. It’s a personal choice for me, when I was their age my parents got me a car without asking, told me I had to get a job and pay for the payments, insurance, gas, a cell phone, then later my own senior stuff. I was going to high school, doing community service for school, had a non paying job placement for my career center, then having a after school job from 4pm when my community service was over until 11pm! I was up until 1 or 2 am doing homework. Up by 6am and now since I had a car expected to get my siblings to school at another school because we didn’t go to the same school. I was exhausted all the time. My gpa slipped and I had no time for sports or to be a kid with friends! I cannot do that to my kids. It’s a choice if they want to work in high school. My son is an extremely hard worker and chose to work and bought his own vehicle. I just wanted to give them a choice as I didn’t have any. My daughter is at that age now and decided to drive the family car and focus on school and community service projects and apply to scholarships in her free time.
