Happy Saturday!  I know I’ve seen a couple people post about permanently living in an RV.Happy Saturday! I know I’ve seen a couple people post about permanently living in an RV. I’m an empty nester & I love my job but the stress level is beginning to seriously affect my health. I need to start positioning myself to leave my job someday. Any idea what the yearly cost of RV living is? I know it can extremely vary but I have zero starting point to figure out if this would be an option. I have zero ties to one location in the US which will help the cost of living. Any information would be appreciated!

I lived in one for a few months. It was $650 a month to rent the space where I parked it, which included electricity, water and wifi. My note was $350, for a 2010 model that needed some of repairs. I did this while building a home. I can't remember insurance. Managing the tanks on a daily basis was awful and it was scary during storms.

Be careful where you park it. Some counties or cities have ordinances against it.

Get yourself on some full-time RV groups. The expense are different for each family. You need the RV, are you paying cash or will you finance? You will need full-time insurance, Ive seen this cost anywhere from 200. per year to 2000. You will have monthly space rent, propane, laundry and utilities. Utilities aren't always included. I would also have a hefty emergency fund if you aren't handy. Things break when you least expect it. You will also need a tow vehicle unless you find a place that don't require it. That will add monthly expenses of a vehicle. Start on YouTube there are lots of vlogs out there.

Look up Nick True on YouTube. He and his partner live full time in an RV and he details out the costs in some of his budget videos.

I lived full time in my RV for 2. 5 years with my spouse and travelled Canada and the US. He worked on the road. Expenses are very variable. The cheapest option will be staying in one spot. Anytime you move you incur additional expenses for moving and fuel is not cheap! I did this many years ago so my financials won’t be relevant so it makes sense to join some forums etc. I absolutely loved it. We did it pre-kids, we were young 26 and 23 at the time. I would do it in a heartbeat but only in a warmer climate. It’s not as fun in our winter Canadian climate.
