How do you guys determine the denominations that you want to use in your envelopes? Like if you beed $50, how do you determine if you want a $50 or 5 $10 bills. Ive been trying to figure out how Miko plans out her envelopes, if there is a strategy to it.

I tend to get bigger bills because then my envelopes stay thinner and my wallet isn’t as bulky - with the exception of my misc envelope. I get a combo of bills for that envelope so I can make change if I need to

I do highest denominations. it’s a mind game, I hate breaking big bills and it works because I always end up rolling over a few larger bills

She gets big bills because you second guess your purchase when you have to break a big bill

Do you guys ever run into situations that stores won't accept higher bills?

@maracaibo356 no. For my dining out I get 20's. I have seen no large bill signs at a few places. Other than that no.

The ATM we use gives 10’s, 20’s and 50’s so I just distribute based on that. We can adjust the amounts on each, I usually stick to $50’s and $20’s unless I need like $30 in an envelope

Sinking funds get 100’s and 50’s. So does food. Rest are 5, 10 &20’s
