Hi All, has anyone with Sprint ever pay off their phones? My flex lease ends with them for our two phones and I got an email saying we have the option of buying our phones. Has anyone done this? Is it worth doing?

Yes I bought mine because I like the phone. If you don’t pay the money upfront you have the option to pay it off in 6 more months just continue making payments on it. But you gotta let them know. Otherwise if you don’t do anything you will continue leasing it and to me that’s just wasting money bc if you decide to keep it 5 months from now those 5 monthly payments would not count toward paying the phone off. Hope this makes sense!

It's worth paying off if you like your phone and plan to keep it. We just paid ours off in October. It was worth it for us because I didn't want to pay another lease and couldn't afford to pay flat out for 2 new phones. Ours work just fine. Now we have a sinking fund for 2 new phones within the next year.

If you like the phones, then yes. You will just continue with the payment plan to finish paying off the phones. You don’t have to buy them outright.

My lease just ended and I was about to pay in full to buy it and magically my phone stopped working. I'm taking it in tomorrow to be looked at but I have a feeling they are going to tell me it's too old and I have to upgrade. I'm annoyed because I really like my phone.

Thank you all. Our lease is expiring and if I continue using the same phones, we'll just continue leasing them. However, if we buy them, that'll save us about $83/month on our cellphone bill.

Didn’t you just buy them by leasing them? So you basically paying for the same phone twice?

it’s an option to buy at the end of the lease.
