If I do my grocery shopping online every Sunday, would it be easier to count it as a bill instead of using an envelope? Now I have to deposit cash back in my account to replenish what I used.

I do mine every other week. I shop online for everything I need on Friday but I just hold it in my online basket just so I know roughly what my total will be. I allow $300 every 2 weeks for food, so if my groceries are $260, I leave that amount in my checking account then take out the remaining $40 cash to put in my grocery envelope Incase I need to make a small grocery purchase until the next payday. I then place the actual grocery order on Saturday to pick up on Sunday

I order online. I think it helps save money because you dont go in. You can also put things bad if you come to close to your budget.

Groceries and gas stay in my checking. I just monitor it and budget for it. I am not ALL cash
