Okay starting my debt free journey this month . I’m extremely excited . I just want to know if anyone, once they wrote down their debt actually couldn’t sleep? Lol . I’ve been watching YouTube videos on getting rid of debt and it’s bothering me so much that I’ve been okay with it . So far after writing my goals, my first debt should be paid off by February 15th. What took me so long ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️ good luck everyone !

Definitely me! Except I think my insomnia was due to excitement of where this journey will take us! I am a SPENDER! But this group, along with the TBM work book has actually made me excited to get to work and not spend a dime

Pretty sure this is true for most of us. Once you get on a budget and start paying down bills, you’ll sleep like a baby even if you have a ways to go!

Every since we wrote our debt down in December and looking at what we can pay each month on debt. Unexpected money keeps popping up to pay debt quicker. Already paid $2500 down on one CC and just received a small unplanned bonus from work this morning.

Once I actually faced by debt and financial issues and started working toward paying them off and getting 'in shape' rather than ignoring the situation, I have been sleeping better and better. And once you get to where you are actually paying off things rather than just barely keeping up, it gets better and better.

Another great thing is when you start and it becomes a bit easier, all of a sudden you have the money to do some of the things you wanted to do, but couldn't because bills were due. Or you did them and had to struggle to find money for the bills. I just went to an annual orchid sale and was able to buy a couple of orchids because (1) I knew it was an event coming up, (2) I knew I wanted a couple of orchids and (3) for a few months ahead I made sure I was cutting corners, like taking my lunch to work instead of buying it and saving that money for the big day!

It was sheer panic for me. I knew the spending was out of control and I knew we were jeopardizing our future by using retirement funds to bail us out year after year, but I had no idea we were blowing through almost two thousand dollars per month on credit cards. It’s been a year and a half now, and those days and bad habits are firmly in the rear view mirror, but I still have many a sleepless night thinking about the financial disaster we created and how unconscious we were with our spending.

It was definitely eye opening. I’m was angry that I had so much debt but plenty of leftover money each check. But now that I have my budget, and got the ball rolling (bye bye Kohl’s charge card) I see that although my debt is HIGH, it’s manageable and that if I keep on it it’ll be gone before I know it  All the baby steps of this process gives me the satisfaction to keep on going. Good luck, you’ll do awesome!

The first night I was like ick! I let it get this bad and we spent how much in 3 months on fast food and resturants. that’s a long weekend vacation for a family of 5 we can’t afford! Once I faced it head on, I slept better knowing I had a plan! 2020 is the year we start tackling this debt! Hoping to get cc #2 paid off this week! Onto the next.

When I first started that's how I felt. Now I open mine once, maybe twice a week. Still going strong paying off debts tho.
