I use mine mostly for rice and hard boiled eggs  but I have a 3qt one. Maybe ask some friends locally that have one if you could borrow it to see if you like it first?

I love my instant pot! I use it basically every day to make everything. I make pasta, rice, almost all of my vegetables, soups, chicken. I barely even use my stove anymore Faster and easy clean-up

I do have to say, I have the 8 qt and it’s far too big  But I got it for Christmas and my mom didn’t know any better

I just purchased one on sale 40% off at Target last month. So far I really like it. I made a 6. 5 pound chicken in an hour! 35 minutes of cooking and 25 minutes of steam release. The broth that has accumulated was incredible too, which turned in to a delicious soup.

Ninja Foodi . also amazing. I could get rid of my crockpot and rice cooker now. Awesome how fast it cooks but also amazing is how easy it is to clean compared to oven or stove dishes.

100% worth it, if just for the fact that I make spaghetti and meatballs in it every week and I don’t have to stand over my stove our drain anything.

Yes, worth it if you like meat cooked tender within a short period of time without having to tend to stove or oven. Things like beef stew, ribs, pork carnitas etc.

I love that when I forget to thaw my meat I can still make what was on the menu cuz I can cook from frozen

I’ve been thinking about this too even though I’m happy with my slow cooker!
by (11.6k points)
@valentinvalentina Dizon it’s so much more than a slow cooker, I cook rice, boil eggs and chicken breast weekly, I can set it and go do other things, I can make tacos, gumbo, anything. it would be great for camping too
by (6.5k points)
@squirearchy O'Brien That sounds amazing. I will look into this.

I vote the foodi over the instapot, but that’s just my two cents

My husband is even using it! Also it doesn’t heat up the kitchen and use a lot of energy so it’s good for the electric bill

I truly thought ours would be another not used kitchen gadget but we’ve actually used it a lot. It really does keep us from eating out. I love making boiled eggs. shells just roll off, and everything we’ve tried has been tasty and good. Chicken, soup, pork tenderloin. there are tons of recipes and many just have a couple ingredients.

Someone else also asked this and originally I said I didn’t use it, I was more of a crockpot gal. Well. My husband started playing with it on the weekend and he loves it! The meals he is making are delicious, easy and fast!

I use mine a lot. In the summer I use it almost every day so I don’t turn on the stove. Kitchen gets too hot.

I love mine and use it almost everyday. I live in a sailboat with limited kitchen space so it works great for that. It does pull a lot of power for a boat but its a short amount of time so worth it. I have 2 liners I hated things sticking to the one that came with it so I bought a non stick one. I use the orginally one with the egg bite attachment I also bought. I also use that one for the quickest easiest hard boiled eggs on the planet. Tge egg bite tray is great for egg bites but I used it for muffins and brownies too. I also purchased the spring pan form but didn't use it yet. When this one dies I will get an 8 quart. They also have an air fryer attachment for them now. I also have instant pot 7-1 air fryer which is awesome to since I don't have an oven.

I was lucky to get one for Christmas - I love it! It’s trial and error to learn its capabilities and timing (etc) but it’s one of the best presents that’s actually useful. My partner uses it too and he’s more of an oven guy so this helps the argument. I’m amazed every time we use it.

We have a ninja foodi that has the pressure cook function . along with others. the pressure cook and air fryer have literally changed for the good in my cooking. no more dried out pork chops ;-). I need to look up more recipes but it has been a blessing when school functions get done late!

I don’t love mine. Maybe I just haven’t found the right recipes yet but I don’t find it much of a time saver. The only thing that I think works the best in the instant pot is spaghetti squash

Honestly I was a skeptic who was like but I have a crockpot why need it? My mom gifted us one for Christmas and it’s been the best thing. I have made stuffed artichokes, potato soup, rice, and homemade yogurt. It’s literally my favorite.

What is the difference between an instapot and a foodi?
by (1.6k points)
@roadrunner my Foodi is both a pressure cooker like an Instant Pot and an air fryer in one. It also dehydrates and some other stuff. Definitely worth checking out. I love my Foodi.

I have a family of 8- 5 teenage boys and an adult daughter along with my hubby and I and we eat out of this 5x a week doubling or tripling the recipes using the 8 quart. Love it as we are always on the go. I can cook a Dr Pepper pulled pork in 55 mins. to me that is crazy and it’s so delicious!

YES! Many times if I forgot to take something out of the freezer for dinner, then I'd stop at the store and get something already thawed. With my instant pot, I have often cooked from frozen. saves money that way.

I didn't like mine, but we got a Ninja Foodi and I really love it! We haven't used it a ton, slowly trying new things, but everything has been great so far and it's nice to make a meal in one pot. It has the Air Fryer function as well, although I've seen InstantPot came out with one that also has that function. That is what makes it so worth it to me.

I’m in LOVE with my Instant Pot 6-qt! I use it several times a week and sometimes several times a day! Of course I couldn’t live without the Rootitoot Instant Pot group on Facebook. Soooo many great recipes in the Files tab at the top of the page. I have both of her cookbooks too. Omgosh, so amazing! Check her website too at Rootitoot. com where there are lots more recipes. Cooking real food at home saves so much money! You can’t go wrong with your pot with this kind of support to teach you step by step.
